Hey friends! Welcome to the B & B blog. We are Bret and Brandie, a soon-to-be husband and wife photo team based in the Midwest. Here you will find our latest work, favorite love stories, and recent adventures. Grab some coffee, snuggle up, and enjoy!
Every now and then a couple comes along that makes it hard to believe that photographing weddings is what we do for a living. Meet Nick & Amanda, two of the giggliest people we know! To know them is to love them and their wedding day was no different. We’ve been lucky enough to know Nick & Amanda for a very long time – we went to high school with them (was that really 8 years ago?!). It’s hard to remember that long ago sometimes, but these two are still the same bubbly, vibrant people that they were many years ago. We are so blessed to have been able to capture their beautiful, joyous day. These two are so stinking in love that it’s almost too adorable to handle!
We started out our day in Santa Claus, Indiana at the Santa Claus United Methodist Church to begin the process of getting ready. Amanda was surrounded by all of her sweet friends and family during this time and the dressing room was filled with giggles. Once Amanda and her bridesmaids were ready, we headed over to Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial for the infamous first look! Amanda walked up behind Nick so magically in her stunning lace gown and tapped Nick on the shoulder. When he turned around (looking sharp, might we add), he immediately lit up in bliss, and wrapped her in his arms. Tears of pure joy were shed, and their sweet giggles were endless. To watch these two melt into each other’s arms was a sight we will never forget! We snapped a couple beautiful shots and then brought in the family and bridal party. This bunch was a very lively crew and left us with stitches in our sides. Our favorite part of these group photos was that every so often we would catch Nick trying to sneak a kiss from Amanda – he claims he “just couldn’t help it”. That man is absolutely smitten with Amanda.
The ceremony took place in at Santa Claus United Methodist Church and was absolutely incredible. Amanda being a performer herself, we would have expected nothing less in the music department. The songs were beautifully done by some fabulous performers. The song “Hills and Valleys” stuck out to us the most – absolutely beautiful! A perfect ceremony for the most perfect couple! If you know Nick & Amanda at all, you know that their journey together has been a crazy one filled with many miles between the two of them. Living across the world from each other to follow separate dreams, but continuously growing together as a couple seems daunting, but it was no issue for these two. What better way for their family and friends to send them off than with paper airplanes?! That’s right – no rice or bubbles for this couple! It was such a unique and fun little touch!
The reception took place at Baker Chapel in Boonville, Indiana. It included all things lovely and vintage! Maps, suitcases, and globes galore! We loved the vintage travel theme that carried throughout the whole venue. A delicious, unique dessert bar was available for all the guests to enjoy. (Can we get the recipe for those no-bake cookies?!?!) The first dance was romantic and the love between these two is so obvious. It showed throughout the whole evening up until the DJ played the last song.
Our last and final part of the night may have been our favorite part of the evening! We were able to get Nick & Amanda to sneak off to Scales Lake Park in Boonville, Indiana for a sunset session! ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Look at that light! Oh my gosh, couples like Nick & Amanda make our job so easy. When couples are that in love, no prompting is needed from us. We are still giddy over their perfect day and we are so happy for Mr. Nick & Amanda Claise. We couldn’t be more excited to watch our friends embark on this new journey called marriage! Thank you all for allowing us to celebrate with you! Enjoy!
