Hey friends! Welcome to the B & B blog. We are Bret and Brandie, a soon-to-be husband and wife photo team based in the Midwest. Here you will find our latest work, favorite love stories, and recent adventures. Grab some coffee, snuggle up, and enjoy!
Recently we got to shoot a mini session with our sweet besties, Brad & Bianca. Their wedding is merely one month away and we are oozing with excitement! The amount of love and admiration that we have for this adorable couple is indescribable. We’ve been blessed to have them enter our lives. Sweet B had the precious idea to give us a break from blogging (phew!) and to write their blog from the client perspective. How neat is that?! Check out Bianca’s take on their mini session and please excuse us while we go grab some tissues!
“Our mini session with Bret and Brandie felt laid back compared to our last dinner date with our combined four dogs. We spent our Monday evening winding down in downtown Owensboro, Kentucky posing in front of The Miller House.
‘Friendship is when people know all about you, but like you anyway.’ This quote is oh-so-important to me because this sweet couple has dealt with me in some of my worst moments. We’ve spent many nights together, three photography sessions together, and a vacation! As time has gone on, they have realized that I am not an easy person to deal with when I get hungry. A picture of me may even be in the dictionary under the word ‘hangry’. Hunger hit me hard at our sessionon Monday night. Bless their sweet little hearts, but have you ever tried being posed when you’re hungry? Tough stuff.
If you’ve ever worked with Bret and Brandie, you know the first five minutes consists of finding the perfect backdrop, and most importantly, the perfect lighting. Please take note – these two have PERFECTED finding the perfect lighting during their sessions. All of their pictures are light and airy with a beautiful soft touch to them. Not long after Brandie had us posed, Bret started shooting away. While Bret is capturing the moments, Brandie is doing her thing. Once again, if you’ve ever shot a session with these two, you know Brandie is the most complimenting, encouraging human you’ll ever meet. ‘Oh, sweet B! Your lips are GORGEOUS!’ If you ever need a self-esteem boost, she’s your girl! The sweet soul kept gushing over how much Brad’s actions and body language showed how much love he had for me.
While we were wrapping up the session, I interrupted a shot by yelling, ‘DOG!’ and Bret and Brandie were equally as excited and just giggled along with me. Another reason we love them – they are dog lovers just like us! As we walked a couple blocks down the street, Brandie offered to escort me by locking arms and holding my elbow to ensure that I didn’t face plant in front of the whole city of Owensboro. She’s always doing whatever she can to make sure that her clients are taken care before, during, and after their sessions.
I was starving by this point and very anxious to break bread with our sweet besties. Dinner was next – YES! As we walked back to our car, though, I could not help to forget my hunger for a moment and think about how lucky Brad and I are. We have been engaged for 1.5 years, our wedding is in one month, and planning is beginning to get very hectic. Bret and Brandie have gone above and beyond not only for us, but also for every other client they’ve ever worked with. They were truly made for this job!
With the ups and downs, obstacles, and many hurdles thrown our way during all of the planning, they’ve brought a sense of calmness to help us through. Choosing this team as our photographers was the best decision we have made with our wedding planning. Trust me when I say that this team doesn’t have clients. They create friendships with each and every couple!
Brandie and I had never met in person until our first ‘business’ meeting. Now, she is one of my absolute best friends, one of the best people in my life. I truly believe life gives you a friend you don’t deserve, but couldn’t live without. I thank God that he gave me Brandie for that friend!”
Now how precious is that?! While we continue wiping our tears and thanking God for this thing we call a ‘job’ and for clients/friends like Brad & Bianca, check out a sneak peek of their beautiful mini session in Owensboro, Kentucky.
